Do you know the name of the exam board, and the full name of the qualification?

For example:
City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Adult Literacy,
ASDAN Level 2 Certificate in Adult Numeracy, or
OCR Entry Level Certificate in Adult Numeracy.

If you have a link to the awarding body offering the qualification, or the college which teaches it, then would work too.

Are you talking about a historical qualification, or a current one?

Edexcel previously offered:
Pearson Edexcel Entry Level Certificate in Adult Numeracy - 100/2605/8
Pearson Edexcel Level 1 Certificate in Adult Numeracy - 100/1361/1
Pearson Edexcel Level 2 Certificate in Adult Numeracy - 100/1362/3
Pearson Edexcel Entry Level Certificate in Adult Literacy - 100/2005/6
Pearson Edexcel Level 1 Certificate in Adult Literacy - 100/1378/7
Pearson Edexcel Level 2 Certificate in Adult Literacy - 100/1379/9

However, none of these have been offered for over a decade, which makes me think perhaps you're talking about a different qualification. Also, you refer to "edexcel adult numeracy and literacy" as if it's a single qualification - covering both numeracy and literacy - although none of the above are.

Or perhaps an adult education college is simply using an old name for a new qualification? Does "(2) grd1" and "23 points" come from an actual certificate, from Excel? Or has that come from the school / college itself?

The closest matched for "edexcel adult numeracy and literacy" which are currently available are:
Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills qualification in Mathematics at Entry Level 1, 2 and 3 - 603/4269/9, 603/4265/1, and 603/4266/3
Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills qualification in Mathematics at Level 1 - 603/4267/5
Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills qualification in Mathematics at Level 2 - 603/4268/7
Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills qualification in English at Entry Level 1, 2 and 3 - 603/4286/9, 603/4287/0, and 603/4288/2
Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills qualification in English at Level 1 - 603/4289/4
Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills qualification in English at Level 2 - 603/4290/0

The fact that your result starts "(2)" might indicate that it's Level 2, or might indicate that it's Entry Level 2. All the above current qualifications are pass/fail, with no actual grade. Therefore I suspect that this applies to your qualification too. Having said that, "grd1" would certainly imply that perhaps it's a "grade 1", but "grd" might mean something else in this context. Sorry I can't be more definitive!
