Finance for placement semester

Good morning,

I was just wondering if SFE will give me my usual maintenance loan if I do an unpaid internship from January to April? I heard they only pay if it is unpaid AND for a public body

It's a part of my course, but not mandatory for my course. It's an optional part of the degree that replaces a semester of university work

Placements can sometimes affect what Maintenance Loan you get, but it depends on how long the placement it, as well as where you're doing it.

If you haven't already done so we'd recommend that you submit your 25/26 application online as soon as you can. We'll then be able to confirm exactly what you're entitled to.
