Soas 2025 digital media, culture and Chinese

Hi I applied for clearing for the digital media, culture and Chinese degree at Soas I was wondering if anyone has done this degree or if they are currently doing it. Also more information on the degree would be extremely helpful like how many classes there are per week, how many hours is the Chinese classes and how many people are there in the classes.

Hi,

I would suggest reaching out to previous alumni on LinkedIn to see what their experience was like with the degree programme.

In terms of the classes and timings etc, it is very dependent on each student's individual timetable and how many modules you take. Each module has 1 hour lecture per week followed by a 1 hour seminar/tutorial. If you take 4 modules in a term, that would be 4 hours of lectures per week and then 4 hours of tutorials so a total of 8 hours per week. The number of students in each class is also dependent on how popular your particular module is. For more popular modules, class sizes can go up to 150 students. Lectures will run with the entire cohort doing that particular module so they will be a lot larger in size and then your seminar/tutorials are 10-15 students and runs more like a personal discussion group.

I hope this helps!
