Durham Clearing colleges

Hi, i’ve gone through early clearing for Durham and was wondering which kind of colleges often get given to applicants like me? Or is it complete luck? Thanks

It will depend on what spaces they have left for your course at each college as they like a balance of courses at each college.

Not sure how early clearing works but If you are asked to state a preference for accomodations that will dictate what order they look through the colleges for you so a bit of luck is definitely required. They can also move people around after results day too so I think its just a provisional allocation to college until you receive a formal offer of accomodation that you need to accept/pay a deposit for.

Hi, well done on getting through early clearing! 🎉

With college allocations at Durham, it’s not really about “which type” go to clearing applicants, it’s more about where there’s space left once the main UCAS cycle has finished. That means it can feel a bit like luck, but the uni does try to take your preferences into account where possible (self-catered vs catered, modern vs traditional, en-suite etc.).

Also the university usually has a mix of different courses at each college so it can depend on this too.

Good luck with everything. ☺️
