next steps after results day

I will be applying to university this year, so I hope to start in September next year. I was curious to know how enrollment works on the day of results day. Once you receive your grades, do you need to physically visit the university, or is everything handled through UCAS? And once you know which universities have given you the offer do you then simply choose the one you would like to attend ?

Hi,

You choose your firm and insurance choices before results day, once you’ve received your offers. Then on results day, if you meet the conditions of your firm offer, your place is confirmed automatically. If you don’t meet your firm but meet your insurance, you’ll be placed there instead.

You don’t need to visit the university unless you’ve been invited to an in-person interview or you’d like to attend a campus tour. Everything else is handled through UCAS, and your application gets updated automatically when your grades are released.

If neither your firm nor insurance accepts you, you can look for available places through Clearing.

Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Enrolment happens online and usually not until the end of August / start of September - you'll get an email telling you what to do.

Hey! Since you’ll already have your results when you apply for next year, you’re actually in a really good position. Most universities will be able to make you an unconditional offer straight away because they already know your grades.
You don’t need to visit the university in person everything is handled online through UCAS or directly with the university.
You can apply in a couple of ways:
🔹 Through UCAS for 2026 entry to start in September 2026 or sometimes January 2026, depending on the course and uni.
🔹 Or, if you’re ready to start this year, you can apply through Clearing 2025, which is already open! you can apply and potentially receive offers very quickly.
So whether you want to start this September or wait until next year, you’ve got flexible options. 😊
Let me know if you want help finding courses in Clearing or choosing between unis!
