According to The Complete University Guide (UK), for Psychology, Newcastle is ranked at 23rd, and Northumbria is ranked 44th.

Definitely worth getting in touch with the universities about that one, to get hold of module/course structure information, to compare them against each other.

It depends on what you'd rather study module-wise. Both Universities are incredibly respected institutions with access to good research and science facilities, often used by Psychology students. For reference, I'm going to Northumbria myself to study Psych.

I wouldn't worry too much about rankings unless you really care that much yourself, as long as obviously it's not in the very bottom (which they're not - Northumbria is 37th in the league table and Newcastle, a Russel Group, is 31st).

Take a look at the modules and compare what you'd rather study.
