Gap year or not?

I’ve applied to uni at bath and have accepted my place pending results day in August but over the summer I’ve been contemplating taking a gap year first and using it to work as a gap year assistant in a boarding school with one of the perks being I’d have some money saved ahead of uni. I’m not even sure if it’s still possible to defer my place at bath for a year or if the gap year is something I want to do does anyone have any advice including experiences as a ‘gappie”

Hi @incongruous-card,
Congratulations on getting a place at Bath!
A question: is Bath your top choice, or did you apply elsewhere too?
Deferring a year, may mean you’ll end up paying slightly higher course fees next year. However, if wanting to take a gap year to give yourself a break, then that does make sense.
Best of luck,
Marzinho
