Hey! Are you looking for help with what it is like to study law at uni, or are you looking for advice on the application process? (or both?) ☺️

What age will you be? This will determine whether you study post-16 at college or 6th form or post-18 and study at a UK university.

Hello! I was aiming to do WJEC level 3 criminology but now they're saying that it isn't accepted by most universities especially the top ones. Stating that this vocational course is equal to only one A-level. But we are also not allowed to combine a vocational course with A-level subjects because it's a full-time course. I'm desperate to do Criminology, what should I do.

Hello @yasmina_32

It is right that not every university accepts the WJEC Level 3 Criminology course so if you are keen to do this qualification you should research which universities will accept it.

Criminology is indeed equivalent to one A Level so you should in theory be able to combine it with two other A Levels or other equivalent qualifications. I know when I did Criminology it was alongside A Level Psychology and Mathematics.

Maybe you should either talk to your provider or research alternative providers/pathways.

I hope this helps. If you have any further questions please do let me know.

i applied to study criminology but they did not ask me what A-levels I’d like to study alongside it. I want psychology but someone said I can’t go with it. Do they ask me on the enrolment day or what?

Hello @yasmina_32

They should have asked you which subjects you want to study in advance for them to sort out numbers etc but it will likely be enrolment on results day when you will finalise all of that.

Also, I can confirm that you can definitely 100% take A Level psychology alongside the WJEC Level 3 Diploma in Criminology because that's exactly what I did (along with A Level Maths but thats another story altogether!)

I hope this helps. If you have any further questions or anything at all please do let me know!
