student finance availability after first degree?

Hi, I wanted to ask if I'll be eligible for student finance again after completing 2 years of university and leaving in my 3rd year. I'm looking to study Computer Science as my new degree; will I be eligible for funding?

Hi YusufA1,

If you study Computer science part time, you would be eligible for the full duration of the course as your previous study would be disregarded. If you are looking to study full time, your 3 years previous study would be taken into account and would affect your Tuition Fee Loan entitlement. If you are to study a new 3 year full time course, you would only be eligible for full support in the final year of the course and would need to self fund years 1 and 2 Tuition Fees. If you had reasons as to why you couldn't complete your previous course, you could provide evidence that would show what happened, when this happened and how this directly impacted your studies to be able to award the Tuition Fee Loan in the applicable year if you had Compelling Personal Reasons for not completing the previous course.

Thanks, Clare
