Oxford College Choice Advice (For a worried Canadian)

Hello! I'm a Canadian applying to Oxford for Law in 2026. I am trying to choose a college just based on photos, which is proving to be difficult.
I'm looking for a college that isn't too big or party-oriented. I'd prefer something smaller that is also less popular, so my application is a little stronger (En-suite bathroom would be a plus too, but I can't be overly picky lol). I have a high academic standing, but am concerned by my limited amount of law-targeted extracurriculars to begin with, so I'm not looking to apply to the most popular colleges!

Any advice or recommendations would be wonderful!

Stop worrying! In the last admissions round, 42% of offers to read law were made by a college other than the one to which the candidate had applied.

Every college applies the same academic standards. You application will be neither strengthened nor weakened by your choice of college.

Student rooms in Oxford colleges vary widely, and en suite bathrooms are far from standard, but the room rates are subsidised by the colleges, and living in an old and attractive building may compensate for the room being small and/or unmodernised.

May be try one of the three Turl Street colleges: Exeter, Jesus, and Lincoln.

Partying occurs at every college, but is optional.

Thank you so much! That's certainly a comfort!

Hertford, Oriel and Exeter might be worth looking at.
