Should I reach out to my old teacher

Hey , I had this geography teacher who left when I was in year 10.
I have no just left year 11 , I’m thinking about reaching out to her on results day and tell her my geography grade.
Should I do it?

Why do you want to do this? To get a virtual pat on the back from her? Or to prove her wrong, by achieving a higher grade than she thought you were capable of? Or because you think she might be genuinely interested in how all her former students, or you specifically, did?

I was thinking of doing this for my maths teacher as she helped me so much and pushed me to get the best grades I can and after she left we had the worst maths teachers you could possibly have (some days we were genuinely teaching them how to do stuff). I just want to tell her as she is the one who helped me get my grades

Hi there!

Fully depends on your motivation - if she was a teacher that helped you a lot, then of course reach out to her if you want to. I tutored, and it made me really happy to know my students went on to do well in their exams and that they found my help useful. If you want to say thank you to her, then go for it!

Kind regards, Jenifer (Kingston rep)
