Daily commute to Brackenhurst Campus and Clifton Campus

Yesterday I applied a job on Clifton Campus, and I have just noticed that there is another job on Brackenhurst Campus that fits my background and experience. I'm currently based in Manchester, and England is relevantly new to me, so I will have to relocate if I got the job. I do have noticed that Clifton Campus is essentially at the edge of the Nottingham city, but Brackenhurst Campus is quite far away from Nottingham city, and it is essentially in the middle of nowhere. I wonder does the university provide regular shuttle bus service between different campuses and Nottingham city? If so, could anyone show me the timetable and price? Roughly how long it takes to travel from Nottingham city to
Brackenhurst Campus or Clifton Campus, respectively?

I hope to get some answers from people who know this university. I have to depend on the public transport or the university shuttle bus service (if there is one), and I do have to use NHS services regularly during the normal working hours, so if the transport between Nottingham city and the campus cannot work out well, I just simply cannot apply and take this job. Based on my past experience universities don't allow staff to be squeezed into student accommodation (because of the standard of living etc), and some universities just don't offer staff accommodation at all (so in this case the staff have to find their own private accommodation off campus). So I just don't want to waste my time to write the job application if it will not work out well for me down the track. But if it would, then i will definitely submit my application, because the job competition is fierce atm, I simply just can't drop any single chance.

As far as I know there's no shuttle bus, but there are local buses. It will almost certainly be at least two buses however as Brackenhurst is about 20 miles away from the City Centre and Clifton isn't in the city centre. As a Brackenhurst alumni, I wouldn't recommend it.

You can check Google Maps for an idea of what that journey would be and how long it would take though.

Personally I'd recommend sticking with Brackenhurst, Southwell and even Newark for jobs.

Hi thanks for your comments. I did check on Google map before I post, but google map usually doesn't show the shuttle bus service provided by organizations internally (an example is NHS shuttle service between hospitals. Another example is my previous university in another country provides shuttle bus service between the campus on two different cities, and because this service is for staff only, it never shows on Google map), so I feel I need to ask someone who was/is in the university.

I'm confused by your general recommendation: In the first paragraph you said "As a Brackenhurst alumni, I wouldn't recommend it" but in the last paragraph you said "Personally I'd recommend sticking with Brackenhurst", so based on my situation I described in my initial post, do you recommend me to relocate to Nottingham and work on Brackenhurst Campus, or not?

Sorry I assumed you were asking because you were going to be studying at Brackenhurst. So I'm not really sure what the situation is there.

But whatever the situation is, my advice essentially boils down... don't commute if you can help it. It's doable but it's also a lot.

Brackenhurt and Southwell are lovely but can be expensive and you might be looking at Newark rather than Nottingham for a city base.

Clifton is obviously closer to Nottingham, so it depends on where you would want to live overall.
