Hello,
I am planning to apply for electrical engineering. I am a very independent learner, I struggle to learn stuff in class because if there is something foreign that I do not understand the rest of the class is just dead time; around 99% of my learning occurs in my free time. I understand that it is different for others (e.g some people may prefer in person learning) but I am not a big fan of sixth form as you have to spend many hours at school just to learn the stuff properly at home. I am a little sad that I have to eat up a lot of my free time studying something that I could have done by myself within a few hours rather than doing that plus school.
The main question I ask is that is this the same for uni/ electrical engineering or is it mainly independent learning. I also would like to know if at least you get a little free time since people have been saying it takes up a huge amount of time. I am not really one to party or drink but I just would like to have free time to talk with friends and to have other activities like sport. I struggle to find time in A levels due to the amount of extra studying I have to do at home (I am a slow learner but I like doing things thoroughly). I really enjoy my subjects, dont get me wrong, but I would love a balance. I hope that having a balance wont affect me academically in the future.
I hope this does not come off as weird,
Thanks,
