oxbridge & gcses

honestly im upset because i should have worked so much harder for gcses, and whilst i dont really give a **** what i get as long as i get into sixth form, im sad that i most likely wont get the grades to apply for oxbridge or really ANY russell groups.. my first choice is UEA and i wanna go there, but i guess now im realising that russell groups or a somewhat respectable uni really isnt possible for me because i just gave up and got burnt out. idk i just feel weird about it now

Hi @studyluka 🙂
I understand this can be a frustrating situation to be in. I would say don't worry about it too much because it won't help. Universities do not base their offers on GCSEs, so do make sure you work hard for your A Levels/next qualifications. Unless you are looking to do medicine, GCSEs do not typically matter too much. Which course are you looking to study at university?
It's great you already know which universities you'd like to attend already, it shows you think ahead! Keep this up for the future when you apply to unis. Have a look at their grade requirements and make sure you are on track to achieve them in A Levels.
I understand this can be a tough time, especially now that you're just waiting for results, but please do try to not worry about it. Many great people go onto university and do the course they love without achieving the highest grades in GCSEs.
I hope this helps! I wish you the best for your GCSE results!! 🙂

What degree subject are you aiming at - and do you think your are likely to get AAA or higher at A level.
