From what I read, if that old dude ever does apply to Oxford (I bet he never does), his app will be sent straight over to Harris Manchester where all the old dudes go. Sleepy college, round the back of Wadham. Free hearing aids. Not for old geeky the gay young pastures of John's! Geeky wouldn't like John's anyway. Lots of clever Chinese studes at John's, and geeky disses LSE cos of all the Chinese kids. Maybe geeky is Nigel Farage's only Pakistani pal!
I don't know why you doubt the inevitable? Because Oxford University will be one of my 5 choices and the offer is AAA, which is lower than A*AA which the LSE, UCL and KCL demand. 🙂 lol

I have seen on Linkedln, a Singaporean Chinese chap at St. John's studying Law who had 6 A-Levels and another chap from South East England with 6 A-Levels as well. So, the standards are high. But 2 others only had 3 A-Levels and not as many A*'s and A grades. So, there is still hope for some of us. 😉

I don't despise or dislike Chinese LSE students, infact I will be doing business in China and so will immerse myself in Chinese culture and language.

I voted Labour in the last election.

You could die from liver organ failure!!! ☹️

You could die from terminal Wannabism. You will die of old age before you apply to any university. Drinking myself to death will be more fun.

I won't be that old, just my early 40s when starting at one of Oxford or LSE or even UCL or KCL thank you very much Mr Tangle!!!

St. John's is very academic and I would not suffer from bad behaviour from other students. Also, it has the cheapest food, drink and the best facilities in Oxford due to it being the wealthiest college.

You think you can control the future by just saying stuff. You control nothing in your life, which is one big endless failure, so you try to control the future by saying things over and over again. Your mental illness is severe. I really do feel sorry for you. Untreated, you will only get worse. Maybe you will end up a danger to yourself or others. You are already borderline stalker-ish on here.

I had mental health issues in the past but not anymore. So, please get your facts straight!!!

I love the idea that all colleges other than St John’s are basically like tough inner city schools where the students face constant disruption to their learning because other students don’t want to be there and so mess around. Whereas St John’s students are all paragons of virtue.

Dude, your mental illness is apparent in almost every post you make here. You are falling to bits in plain sight. It's a shame.

St. John's College does achieve a signficant number of 1sts and 2:1s compared to the rest of the colleges. Merton another college where students are well focused on their degrees and don't waste time either.

In my experience, John's students are in the Lamb and Flag 24/7 365. They are arguably even worse ****heads even that thhat bunch of drunks at St Peter's. Total ****takers too. Not a serious college, John's.

No, only because you despise my choice of St. John's College, Oxford. So, you torment me here. ☹️

Then how do you explain a near perfect set of 1sts in most subjects and hardly any 2:2s or lower?

I don't despise anything except your ridiculous superstition. I'm sorry for you. You're not well.

You're unable to detect irony. That, B TW, renders you an unlikely candidate for this university. Oxford is the World capital of taking the ****.

My only reason for applying to St. John's College, Oxford is because my Maths teacher Rachel told me in the 2000s that I would never get to such an academic college. So, I want to prove her wrong. As well as being surrounded by like minded serious hard working students. I don't want trouble from others. Moreover, I can bench 100kg over my head and easily 80kg. So, I would be a mediator for those troubled by others. 😛 lol

Oh I gathered that. You just love to relieve stress by pranking each other right? I was aware of that. As my Indian friends here in London used to do many prank calls. 😛 hahaha

This is comedy gold. Oxford isn't the South Bronx. Put your muscles away. The only weapon used in Oxford is wit. You are unarmed.

I just fall in love at first sight with the architecture of St. John's College, Oxford as well.

I pray Tahujjud prayer every night around 03:30 and ask Allah to allow me to achieve the highest grades and gather every resource for my subjects and impress the admissions tutors in the interviews as well as score highly in the LNAT.

Like I say, I'm no expert. Unlike geeky, I don't go round pretending to know the secret of getting into Oxford while sitting in my parents' house in my jammies. All I can say is that your stats look OK to me, as a mere undergrad, so fingers crossed your LNAT score is OK and you can do well at interviews. I don't know about Durham. I didn't apply there. Hope you crush it!
Thanks for your kind words re trying for a first. I will try to do the work hard play hard thing and see how I get on. Oxford is even better than I thought it'd be. I'm loving it here. The work is full-on, but the partying is non-stop. There is sooooo much to do here when not working. The work is super interesting, the libraries are great, and tutes are amazing. You get to talk through things with really impressive experts. Not much sleep, but I can sleep when I'm oooooooold.
Hey, I hear good things re Durham too, though it wasn't the vibe for me. Fingers crossed!

Yes, the LNAT score would be a decider I think for an interview, so fingers crossed for that!
I’m ok about the interview, that’s all on me.
Sounds amazing, really happy that you’re loving it!
I did like Durham, but Oxford is my first choice, and if I don’t get either, I’ll take a gap year and reapply.
Good luck with your degree, if you’re enjoying it then you’ve already won the battle comfortably.
