Diving lessons in/around Exeter

I'm looking to start diving lessons (as in board diving, like Tom Daley, and not scuba diving) when I attend the University of Exeter, but the closest centre I can find is an hour's drive away in Plymouth. Are there any closer places to take diving lessons that I haven't seen, or even just pools with diving boards?

Does Sidwell point not offer anything like that? Or perhaps Finlake or something along the riveria like Exmouth or Paignton??

Sounds like fun! 😊 I think the Life Centre in Plymouth is the biggest centre for diving around and I haven't heard of anywhere else that has the same facilities/diving boards/dry training areas they seem to have. It's a great leisure centre for diving but understandably quite a way from yourself (although fairly easy to access via public transport/has free parking). 🏊*♂️

Fingers crossed you can find somewhere that works for you and have fun! 😁

Not sure if this is of interest to you but I just saw the Plymouth Life Centre advertising free 'try diving lessons' later this month so thought I'd share 😊 Here's the link!

Many thanks, by any chance, do you do diving lessons at Plymouth, or any sport at the Life Centre?

No worries! I'm a member of the gym/swimming pool so go a few times a week; if you have any questions about it feel free to let me know 🙂

Nice! Do you know if the diving club offers beginner lessons for adults? Unfortunately, I have virtually no experience in diving and I intend to start when going to uni.

I believe so yes! Looks like they follow the Swim England learn to dive pathway with some information on adults in diving on this page. They have more information on their dive school here and looks like there is an email/number to enquire about beginner lessons too 😁

Best of luck!
