SQE LLM

I graduated prior to 2003, with an Law LLB (Hons) degree; when there was no legal obligation on Universities to provide a transcript. At the time it was a polytechnic but is now a University. I have recently contacted my former undergraduate study institution to obtain my transcript / core student record. However, they state that they have destroyed all archived records prior to 2006. The SQE had not been introduced then and it is now the perfect option for me to enable me to consolidate my experience, academic study and skills and get promoted at work or earn a higher salary going forward. How do I go about obtaining a transcript. Does anyone know if universities will accept me on the SQE LLM course without a transcript (but with my degree certificate an all verifications intact)? How do I approach this? Thank you in advance.

As it received university status in 1992, and therefore was not covered by the CNAA (the awarding body for Poly degrees before that) when you received your degree, only that Uni will have the relevant records. All you can do, is contact your intended Uni for the LLM, explain, and ask them if they do required your full transcript. If you have any relevant email or letter from Kingston, include a copy.

Btw, you don't need an LLM to practice as a Solicitor - SRA | SQE training options | Solicitors Regulation Authority

Thanks for this advice; its incredibly useful. Hopefully I will be able to update the forum as I get responses. I feel its relevant due to funding methods where postgraduate funding does not exist for some professional qualifications, whilst it does exist for LLMs. Not sure why.
