do i take a biology degree or specialise into a microbiology degree?

i'm really torn between the two as I am interested in both.
I am thinking of a career in microbiology but also I feel like taking a degree in just biological sciences won't cut all my options out.
Anyone have any advice?

To be honest, both of them will be accredited by the royal society of biology. Choose by the modules in the course that will interest you. Im a biochemistry student, when I look at jobs, they tend to say a lot of degrees/related degrees in the field. Pharm, biotech, biology, micro, biochem…

Go to Uni Open Days and listen to the subject presentations for both subjects - then do some careful thinking.

Remember, if you are not applying for Oxford or Cambridge, you have until next the UCAS deadline in January to make these choices - whatever your school tries to tell you - so there is no need to panic and feel that you have to decide between the two pathways right now.
