Foundation In clinical science at Bradford uni

Has anyone who has completed the foundation year in clinical science/medicine at Bradford uni got any resources that will be useful for new students, anything that would help make the course easier and give me a higher chance of entering year 1 at Sheffield uni, anything is appreciated
hi @Anonymous #1 Glad to hear that you're interested in the Clinical Sciences Foundation Year at Bradford.
What i would suggest is that you do these things :

go over topics such as biology, chemistry, and academic writing

Use support services like study skills sessions and peer mentoring

Stay engaged in lectures and forming study groups

Aim for strong academic performance especially if you're hoping to progress to Medicine at Sheffield

Also the resources I would recommend that I used when I was a student are things like Khan Academy, PMT, TeachMeAnatomy, and Bradford’s own library/study skills hub. I really hope this helped ! You can also check out university of Bradfords Instagram page for study tips and advice.

Would it be hard for someone who didn't study biology or chemistry at a levels to move onto medicine at Sheffield uni?

If you have studied A-levels and don’t have Biology and Chemistry at minimum grades BC you need to do the Foundation Year. The purpose of the Foundation Year is to provide this essential knowledge of the sciences. It is completely possible to progress to Sheffield from this and some of the highest ranked students who have done didn’t have science A-levels. It requires consistent study.

You might be interested in signing up for our Clinical Sciences Clearing Webinar on Wednesday 6 August to find out what it's like studying the course at Bradford, how to apply through Clearing, the types of support available from academics and the University and you'll have the chance to ask any questions you have

no, i dont sorry. i mostly made hand written notes, for organic chemistry i made loads of paper flashcards. bc in the foundation year, for organic synthesis u need to know double the amount of reagents than u needed to know for a-level. i watched loads and loads of youtube videos which explained things so well. i also did the weekly quizzes multiple times and did loads of practice questions!
