Changing Accomodation

I was just accepted into student accommodation to Agnis Black Adder hall, but I dont really want to be there. I am a Geography major and I love the town of St.Andrews so I will be spending most of my time there and I didnt want an ensuite. The 15 minute walk dosent seem like much but I was hoping for something closer to the town. The most important reason I think is that there is a 3 grand price difference for being in an ensuite room and I didnt want that to begin with.
Do you think I can call and ask to be put in Mellvile, St. Salvator or St. Regulus?

As far as I heard you have an option of declining the offer and asking for different accommodation but I don’t think you can pick the hall. That means your second option might be DRA which is the biggest hall and 30 min walk from The centre . You should be able to request the change based on shared / en-suite status price difference but the hall itself again will be allocated randomly I believe . Saying that most shared accommodation is in the old hall buildings .

I'm in DRA with ensuite and I didnt want an ensuite either because of the price. I didn't think we had the option to reject it?

Since A Level results are next Thursday, how soon after that will allocations be released? Just thinking of how narrow the window might be between results and going up to start.

Oh good - got in two days ago and a bit worried I haven't heard anything, especially as I only have three weeks and need to register with a doctor etc. which needs my new address.

I haven't even thought of registering until I get there.
