Cardiff Uni Accom - Talybont South

Hi, just a quick question about Cardiff Uni accomodation, specifically Talybont South

Is there any real difference between the Ensuite and Ensuite UG+ rooms? I'm a little worried as I put UG+ first ahead of the standard accom as I figured it would be higher standard, I know it comes with a few appliances in the kitchen etc... I'm just wondering if I'm basically getting scammed out of a couple hundred more quid a year, and if I won't get the full social experience of Taly south by limiting the pool of people I'm potentially put in a flat with.

I know it sounds silly, but just want some insight. Anyone whos been in ensuite UG+ before?

Hi!

So the Ensuite Plus rooms are essentially standard rooms with extra amenities, within your room and kitchen area. In your room, you get a bedding pack with two sets of bed linen and towels, underbed storage, clothes hangers, space saving laundry basket, and in the kitchen, as you've said, you get utensils, air fryer, TV and TV licence.

Unfortunately I haven't lived in the Ensuite Plus rooms, but having spent 4 years at university, I can definitely tell you quite a few aspects of the room, such as the airfryer, is really beneficial! It makes making meals easier for sure. Other aspects, such as room-specific items or kitchen items, also saves you the time in going out and buying these things.

I would say it definitely wouldn't limit your social experience though! Having lived in the Talybont complex, Talybont South is definitely one of the most sociable places to live, regardless what type of flat you book yourself onto
