What do you need to prove you were abroad temporarily to get student finance?
So I know from several people in similar situations who were able to qualify for student finance on the basis of being abroad temporarily. They ranged from 1 year abroad to 3 years and even 7 years abroad when applying for student finance yet qualified for funding on the basis of being temporarily abroad.
I am in the same situation.
In their cases they provided their visa/residence cards which had the expiry date of their stay as well as their work contracts also including an expiry date.
Is this really enough?
I have the same UK address, same bank, renewed driving license, uk phone number, national insurance number, birth certificate. My entire family and all my friends live in the UK.
Would letters from family and friends confirming my temporary residence abroad but being an ordinary residence of the UK help?
What else should someone in this situation provide to strengthen their case?

Letters vouching for you? No, wouldn’t help.
Temp work contracts, evidence of frequent return trips, mortgage payments+docs showing the maintenance of a home address etc. Basically any tangible links to the UK.

Thanks someone had said they gave a character statement when they applied from their employer stating their were temporary. Temp work contracts and temp visa I have. Due to corona and the economic downturn (I earn like 18k) I was able to return once, couldn’t even afford to return for my grandfathers funeral it has been awful.
Same home address, bank account I have. Also a renewed license, passport and uk phone number etc.
All my family lives there so I haven’t been there. Hoping this is all enough as it’s more than the other said they had or gave yet where approved so all I can do is cross my fingers.
