Kingston Hill Campus Overview from a Current Student

Hi everyone,

I thought I would continue with another campus overview to help you be able to get a feel for what it is like on one of Kingston’s four campuses. I have done a general overview of all four if you want to see the differences between them - An Overview of Kingston's Four Campuses - The Student Room

Kingston Hill is located just a 10 minute bus journey away from the centre of Kingston, you can use the free university bus to get to the town centre and the other campuses.

The closest accommodation is Walden Hall and Chancellors Hall, which are both located on the campus!! Making it very convenient for getting to lectures. An alternative option would be Seething Wells which is a 20 minute free bus ride away.

Some of the subject areas based here are business, marketing, midwifery, music, health and social care.

When you first arrive whether by the bus or on foot you will see so much greenery the campus is surrounded by trees, making it feel like its own student community. The accommodation is to the left of the campus while if you carry on down the lane to the right you will come across the reception, a huge lecture theatre (Lawley lecture theatre) and then the Kingston Business School.

The Kingston Business School has prestigious accreditation with great facilities including a Bloomberg trading room. There is also a café based in this building.

Across from this is the Frank Lampl building which has all the equipment for nursing and midwifery students, including simulation suites.

Then as you walk further down you will find the library (Nightingale Centre). This is a big library with multiple floors each with computers and books specific to the subjects based at this university. There is a café on the ground floor making it a great place to spend the day studying. It is open Monday to Saturdays from the morning to the evening.

When you come out the library and then go across up the steps (lifts are also available) you will find the onsite shop that has a range of products you can buy from supermarkets making it convenient for those living on campus to pick up a few things you may need. There is also a canteen with hot and cold food options.

One of my favourite parts of this campus is at the top next to the canteen and shop is like a roof top garden space with lots of greenery and places to sit. It is right next to the accommodation so if I lived there, I would definitely be heading over to this part of the campus to relax.

There are lots of other building on this campus with lecture and seminar rooms and places to study.

There are also multiple carparks including a multistorey car park that students can apply for a permit on for free. Within all the greenery surrounding the campus there are tennis courts, paths with walking routes and the Visconti Studio which has recording studios and equipment.

The campus is also surrounded by Richmond Park and Wimbledon and Putney Commons, a lovely way to take a break from studying and explore.

Hopefully this gives you a little insider as to what to expect at Kingston Hill. If you have any questions, feel free to ask 😊 Plus let me know what campus you will be studying at!

To add to the above, there is also a massive Asda within walking distance of Kingston Hill campus, located at Roehampton Vale. So you really don’t have to go too far to get extra amenities. It’s a very convenient campus overall!

Hi,

Yes, thank you for adding this point!

The Asda is huge and has a McDonalds inside.
