Tips for Results Day??

I'm getting my results for GCSE in 4 weeks and I'm actually so nervous. Does anyone have any tips on what to do before and after getting my results?

There's a sixth form I really want to go to but I'm terrified that I haven't done well in maths in order to get in. Although I'm not taking anything math based, I wanted to do well in al my chosen subjects so that they're more likely to accept me as I do not have a conditional offer with them (I flunked my Nov Mocks unfortunately and didn't get in).
I'm basically just gonna list my questions/concerns below:

How early do I get to my school, and do I speak to my friends after I've gotten results?
What happens if you fail math?
What do I do if there's a subject I need to get a grade 6+ in to do a subject and I didn't get that certain grade - will I have to change what I want to do?
When going to other sixth forms who do I speak to about getting in, especially since I don't have a conditional offer?
What do I need to bring with me?
Advice for anyone who hasn't gotten into their dream sixth form?
How many backup Sixth Forms should I have? (I only have 2 atm - this sixth form and my secondary school)

Any other final advice??

I can't help with all of these as I stayed on for sixth form, but I can answer a few!

I'm pretty sure schools let you collect your results from 8am (although check if your school has said anything, or if they prefer to do it online). Speaking to your friends is probably a personal decision. Would they reassure you if it went badly? Would you want to tell them if it went badly? If it goes well you might want to celebrate with them? Basically, that's up to you and how you feel on the day.

If you fail maths you have to resit it.

iirc there's nothing in particular you need to bring with you to get your results, although again check with your school. Maybe student ID if your school has that sort of thing? Also, depending on your family situation it might be nice to have your parents/some form of family there to celebrate/commiserate/whatever else you might need.

I hope that's somewhat helpful - good luck for results and I hope you get into the sixth form you want!

I did my GCSE in 2022:
A) My school opened the doors at 8am, but I got there like 7:50
B) Yes, the school might let you in but you might have to unfortunately change the subject. For my school, you could only do maths if you got like 7+, if you didn't you could still come to the school but you just had to change subjects.
C) Hmm I am not really educated on this questions. I guess I would suggest checking the sixth form call them maybe weeks before results day to see what information they can provide on that, then call on the day of results day
D) I brought myself haha, so bring yourself indeed lol [sorry I am trying to make a joke, I will be serious now 😅], a charged phone [whether to take notes, call sixth forms, loved ones etc],

Ooo my own personal tip! Come dressed nicely! When you dress good, you feel good. For my A levels [2024] I came in a suit haha, I felt like a girl boss. It does not have to be a suit haha but just wear one of your best fits, it will make you feel happy

E) I am not suitable to answer this question, since it doesn't apply to me

F) I had two. I would say perhaps just have one more to be safe

Extra Tips
Wake up early, Have breakfast

Do NOT compare grades, whether you do good or bad! The stakes are just tense and it will make you feel down if someone did better, even if you yourself have done good! You can discuss grades hmmm after you have left the school premise or perhaps the next day

Breathe haha! I will pray for you digital stranger. I will pray for peace and calmness for you. I am a Christian, I think praying gave me a sense of calmness and hope for when getting my own GCSE and A-Levels results

Anyways proud of you stranger,
[salutes]
