Interviews

If you are applying for a joint honors course, let’s say maths and computer science at Oxford, how many interviews would you expect to be invited to? Would it be one for maths and another for CS? Or just maths, as computer science is maths?

For most joint honors courses at Oxford, expect at least two interviews, possibly more. In this instance one for maths, and one for CS. Note computer science is not maths, although there is an element of mathematics in the degree course.

^ Expect 3-5 I think since single honours students usually have 2. Mathematics interviews and CS interviews are similar but not the same, they have different types of problems (many maths topics are irrelevant to CS) + you will be interviewed by a CS tutor for CS, not a pure maths one. Just think of how old MAT questions have separate Qs for CS and Maths applicants, I've heard that interview problems are similar to those (but longer/harder/more open ended)
