Warwick MSc Business Analytics

Hi,
I have an offer for this course to start in September. Does anyone have any insight into how technical this course is? I see that 'programming' features throughout the course and as I completed a BSc in Economics @ York I am wondering whether I will struggle as I have no prior learning of any type of programming. Thanks!

Hey I saw your question. This course is quite popular and does need some technical skills like Python SQL and R. But don’t worry. Many students start with no coding background and still do well.

The course teaches programming step by step and you get support through labs. Modules like Data Management and Optimisation use coding a lot but they start from basics. You also learn how to use Excel R and Python for business problems so learning Python early is super helpful.

If you have time this summer it’s a great idea to try beginner Python. You can use Coursera or YouTube. Just learn things like loops variables and simple data analysis. It will really help when the course starts and make you feel more ready.

You’re not alone. The course is designed for students from many backgrounds. Just be open to learning and practise a bit. You’ll be fine!
