PwC Flying Start Accounting and Finance 2025 - how to prepare

Hello,
It is currently the summer break and results day is soon to approach however I was feeling quite unproductive lately and was wondering if there was any way to prepare early for the Flying Start programme. It might seem like a stretch considering I have no idea if I would meet the requirements to get in but I would like to spend some time just getting to know the degree and potentially researching ahead.

Any ideas how to?

Fellow Flying Start applicants and students please feel free to join in the chat so that I'm aware it is not just me feeling a sense of dread or doom.

Hey! I want to apply for the flying start degree to start in 2026 at qmul or Nottingham, and I was wondering if you had any tips for applying, and how you are finding the course so far!

Heyy. I am currently in week 3 of the flying start accountancy programme and so far its been alright

Regarding tips around researching the firm:

1.

Make sure you know some stuff about PwC itself - eg: history of PwC, values, projects that interest you, societies/network opportunities.

2.

Make sure you are aware of the programme - what sector is it in? (accountancy, business management, tech...), how long is it for?, what benefits does it provide? (eg: fast track to becoming a CA - in the case of accountancy), maybe smth about the programme that interested you.

3.

Find parallels between yourself and PwC - similar values, similar goals?

For interview-based questions, definitely practice answering questions by recording yourself, don't look at the screen (as tempting as it is to admire oneself 😆) rather look into the camera so that it feels as if you are making eye-contact with the viewer/assessor.

I hope this helps and feel free to ask any more questions!

Hi. Apologies for the late reply - I really hope this doesn't impact your decision in any way!

As for your questions:
I applied to 2 universities.
No, I only went through the application process once! (Thank God!) I assume this would always be the case considering the large amount of applications they receive - if they did it twice or more for everyone, it would take forever! So hopefully, it is the same for you.

I say "hopefully" because I believe they do switch up applications a little every year.

I ended up only applying to 1 uni in the end so all good 🙂 but thank you for the reply!

It was a group-based exercise with other applicants. The exercise could be anything really. They mainly want to assess your ability to work in a team setting and your time-management skills.

Hey. Firstly, congratulations! Abt the pay, I am not too sure. I have not yet had my placement since that is done in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year. PwC states that it is a competitive salary, and you could also receive a £10k bursary if you are eligible.
