Any GDL offer holders? Unsure on how one's supposed to accept, my dashboard is empty

Hi there,

Long shot, but I'm hopeful about successful GDL applicant happening to see this post. As you know, GDL applications are done through the LawCAB portal, which becomes static after the application is sent to the course providers.

Whilst I have received an e-mail from Brookes extending me a conditional offer, I am struggling to understand the way the process is meant to continue. After a long back-and-forth with their IT team, I managed to generate an account for their Applications Dashboard.

However, the dashboard is empty, so I can't accept any offer nor upload further documents. The administration first suggested for me to continue the acceptance through LawCAB, but LawCAB is (and rightly so, I believe) saying they are out of the picture once the applications are released.

I have sent some documents through e-mail, and I am getting conflicting information as to whether a GDL application is meant to appear in the Dashboard or not. Sometimes yes (and my account is therefore glitched), sometimes not because the systems can't communicate.

So, GDL offer-holders, are you having the same problems as me? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,
I hope you’re well! Congratulations on receiving your offer!
It sounds like you’ve run into a technical issue rather than something specific to your application. The LawCAB portal and university applicant portals don’t always “talk” to each other in the same way as UCAS does, so it’s not unusual that the process feels a little different or confusing. It sounds like IT has been helpful in making an application ID and account, which is very helpful for talking to the Admissions Team.
For GDL applicants, the important thing is that your offer has been issued by Brookes, so you don’t need to worry that anything has gone wrong with your application itself. If your Dashboard is still showing as empty, the best next step is to reach out directly to the Admissions Team ([email protected]), as they’ll be able to confirm the correct process for accepting your offer and uploading documents. They’re used to dealing with this exact situation, so they should be able to give you a clear route forward.
If you haven’t already, you might also want to double-check your spam/junk folders for any follow-up instructions, as sometimes these emails do get filtered out. Here’s the general guidance on the next steps, including guidance on any post-offer tasks
You’re definitely not alone in finding the LawCAB to Brookes transition a bit confusing, but admissions are used to this and will sort it!
Best wishes,
Dan
