NEA Style Model

I’m looking for a style model for my English Language AQA short story. In class we did Kew Gardens by Virginia Wolfe as the style model and my teacher said I did a good job but I’m not sure I want to use that as my style model. Any suggestions of well written short stories to look at?

Hey 👋. I also so English Language AQA - I'm not sure of any specific short stories but I think you could still use a section of a larger story. That might make it easier? Sorry I'm not much help in choosing a specific book but I have completed my first draft of the NEA and I've got feedback for it so if you need any advice I'd be glad to help. Also I think you're the first person I've seen on TSR actually taking English Language A level! ☺️

All I have is the short story we annotated in class. It's called Roderick Hopes by Robert Eggers - it was written in a newspaper though so I'm not sure how available it is. It was about a man who gets so annoyed with his wife (who I think he recently married?) that at the end he forms a plan to murder her. Idk if that's the right genre for you. Maybe you could see if he wrote anything else good?
