Email from Student Finance help please

Hi I received an email this morning from Student Finance asking to get a health professional to fill in a form along with MLRF & TLRF forms which I don't need because I'm not actually applying for student finance I've only done the application because I've applied for DSA. I'm not sure how to proceed, it does say if I don't wish to apply for the above loans then to disregard the email so should I do nothing?

Does this have any affect on my DSA application?

Also, according to my online account my DSA application is showing as 'verifying payment details'....any idea what this means?

Hi there,

If you only want to apply for DSA then you don't need to complete those forms, that's right.

About where it says 'verifying payment details', is this your first time applying for funding from us?

Thanks, Graeme

Yes it is.

I ended up phoning student finance and they told me to cancel the student loan application online but it won't let me. I've had a letter of entitlement from them as well which just says 0. I've contacted my uni to see if they can help because I was told to just cancel it myself but I'm brought back to the homepage when I click the cancel application button.

My DSA application still says verifying payment details. Hopefully it won't be too long before I hear something.

Okay, yes - this sounds normal. When you first apply we need to verify your National Insurance Number: once that's done your payment status will update.

If there's been no update by this Thursday we'd suggest sending us a live chat on your account just so we can check your application.

Thanks, Graeme
