Ual laptop specification
I applied for BA illustration and the course page says Laptop recommended (specification will be provided), but like when exactly will they be provided? It would be more convenient for me to get a new one now rather than later. If anyone knows what type of laptop I would need and does it have to be apple?

Hi @anonymous #1 ,
I was on the same course and already had an older Apple laptop, so I didn't ask for laptop specifications. But due to its age, my laptop didn't work for me in terms of being able to efficiently run Adobe software.
I ended up getting a PC, but you can get a laptop with similar specifications. I would recommend a powerful CPU (Intel Core i7 or i9) and 32GB of RAM.
At the same time, you may not know how often you'll use Adobe software yet and might use it mainly for Microsoft 365 programs, so you may want to wait and see. It could also be worth waiting until you're enrolled on your course so you can get a student discount on your new laptop.
If you do decide to wait, all UAL libraries offer laptop rentals for a few hours whilst on campus and have PCs that have the capacity to run Adobe software.
