How many driving lessons do I need before I can take the driving test in the UK?

There’s no fixed number of driving lessons required by law in the UK, but most learners need around 20 to 30 hours of professional instruction along with additional private practice to feel test-ready.
That said, it really depends on:

Your learning speed and confidence

Whether you’re doing manual or automatic

How often you practice between lessons

If you're consistent and get quality instruction, you can usually progress faster. It’s also a good idea to take a mock test before booking your practical exam it helps identify any weak areas.

A big part is being confident and relaxed.
