Am I Being Unreasonable?

My brother has got through 4 scooters and I have only ever had 1( not including little scooter). When they brake it is because he is being too rough with them. He now does not have a scooter and he wanted to borrow my one and I said no use your bicycle. He said he didn't want to use his bicycle so I said your not using my scooter as you are likely to brake it. If he did not have a history of only having a scooter a few days and then breaking it then of course I would let him use it but I fear if he uses it it will break. Does this sound unfaire. (According to my brother it is)

You are being completely fair in not letting him use your scooter. Why should you risk your scooter being broken because he doesn't know how to take care of his own? He will have to use his bicycle, he needs to deal with the consequences of breaking something.
