exam technique for science gcse

hey guys i was just wondering how do i improve my exam technique for when im doing papers in science like especially biology because in my year 10 mocks for biology i knew what i was talking about for most of the answers but ended up getting them wrong because the mark scheme worded it differently and i know people say past papers help with exam technique but theres loads of different questions on a paper so how do i ensure that my answer is meeting the mark scheme and is in the correct wording?

Generally, it is thinking about what the question wants you to say.
So first read the question
Highlight the command word
Then focus on the other key words.

Especially for biology, when you need to apply your knowledge

To be honest, I think past papers generally are the best way to help for science. If you go on PMT, they have past paper questions for each topic, and even tho the questions may be worded slightly differently each time, the mark schemes are usually similar or even identical. If u go through past paper questions by topic on PMT, rather than a full past paper each time, you may be able to spot the patterns more. Other than that, I think the above advice is perfect and just ensure that you have all the detail you need.
