Help about applications and how many?

Do you use different personal statements for courses in clearing? Is this possible or do you just do a combined one? Does a combined one impact your chances?

Hello

Are you applying direct-to-clearing this year or have you had an application in the system already this academic year?

I'm really nervous at the moment and don't understand the processes I need to go through

Okay so I would advise spending tomorrow creating your account so that you can start to fill in some of the "bits" so to speak.

Once submitted, your application will sit straight into the clearing part of the system.

You will need to include a personal statement, it's likely that a lot of unis won't give a toss about the PS in clearing - they're just trying to fill their vacancies.

What course are you wanting to study?
What (if any) particular parts of the country are you wanting to study in?
What kind of grade range do you think we might be looking for?

All the 'bits' are filled in, my personal statement for mathematics I believe is nearly finished and should be finished by tomorrow. I want to study maths or economics at the university of Warwick or Birmingham but I am also open to other causes such as mathematical economics and statistics at the university of Birmingham. I think the minimum I will get is an A* in business and A's in maths, further maths and economics.

Is timing crucial right now in terms of getting my application in ASAP to get an offer before results day provided I meet entry requirements (Grades) on the day?

No, not crucial for getting an offer it just saves stress for later on. From 8am tomorrow (Friday) UCAS will be frozen as the universities will receive all of the A Level results for the candidates they can see on UCAS. I would suggest getting your account up so that the system has an easier time attaching your results to your profile from tomorrow onwards.

I'll open with a lot of honesty - Warwick Maths is highly unlikely to be in clearing. You could try ringing them anyway, but that is a highly competitive course. Birmingham you may have more luck, over the next week get a good long list together of possible unis, in order of where you want to go, and start phoning at 8am on Thursday next week.

Thank you for the help, if I apply to UCAS today but don’t add any courses to clearing would that mean UCAS get my results tomorrow??

Should do

(They should get access to your results anyway, but I'd just suggest that it's in your interest to limit the possibility of technical issues.)
