Need help for applying to dentistry 2026

Hi!Im thinking of applying to Dentistry for 2026 entry- but I'm not feeling to confident in my chances- so Im not sure if I should change career paths but dentistry is my preferred option. However I dont want to take a gap year or study abroad.
Here are my stats:
GCSES: 8887777766
Grades: A*AA
UCAT: currently doing it but im hoping for a high score

I also think im aspiring too high with my uni choices, my preferred options are: KCL, QMUL, Bristol or Manchester.
I should add I go to a grammar school and only take Chem- which lowers my options and puts me for a foundation year- which I dont mind doing!!
I also have a slight contextual but not too strong but its family circumstances and being the first gen to uni.

Honestly and feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks

Your stats are decent for dentistry, but consider adding work experience or volunteering to strengthen your application. You might want to apply to a mix of aspirational and slightly more realistic universities. A strong UCAT score will also help. Good luck!

Depending on the rest of your application GCSES A levels Work Experience its Quite unlikely, as many unis want at the bare minimum 2650+. However if other areas are strong, consider applying to unis that place less emphasis on UCAT.
I would suggest retaking, go through alternative routes such as foundation years or take advantage of Widening Access Schemes.

But the UCAT is out of 2700 now? I’m pretty sure a score between 2100-2200 is very competitive

Hi, Think you may have not taken new scoring system into account. 2140 & band 1 is a good score for new system…

Hi all,
I'm predicted first in my biomed degree, achieved 2270 b2 in UCAT and five 9s and five 8s at GCSEs. I want to maximise my chances of getting into dentistry but do prefer the postgrad route. I've been guaranteed an interview for QMUL undergrad dentistry so that's one option.

I'm thinking of
KCL - post grad
Aberdeen - post grad
QMUL - undergrad

Any advice on which uni i should put as my 4th choice?
