Worth applying for dentistry at Liverpool and Leeds with a 6 in maths?

Ideally wanted Liverpool to be my first choice for dentistry but I've heard that it's quite GCSE heavy as well as Leeds and as said above I got a 6 in maths. If its helpful in answering this question I got a 7 in English lang, 8 English lit and all 7s with the three sciences

Sure. Liverpool require "A minimum of 7 GCSEs at grade B/grade 6 or above including Maths, English Language and a Science" (source) and Leeds require "A minimum of 6 GCSEs at Grade 6/B or higher including Chemistry, Biology (or Dual Science), English and Maths" (source). So your grade 6 in GCSE Maths meets the entry requirements of both. Don't talk yourself out of applying by assuming that you need to exceed this requirement. You don't.

Thank you! I know I meet them haha but I think they weigh slightly more importance on GCSE'S compared to other dental schools like I've heard apparently Liverpool rank them? Just worried because my lower grades were in the maths and sciences and it is a dental course, but yes might be overthinking it

Most Unis will use your overall GCSE profile as part of their assessment, mainly to distinguish between those with identical A level predictions - but it will be a very small % of the overall score and typically its only your top 5 grades, or just maths/science, etc. Don't worry about it. Apply.

noo, i attended the dentistry summer school at liverpool this yr, and they said that as soon as u meet the minimum gcse requirements they move on to the next part. so someone with all 9s wont be considered more because of this compared to someone with the minimum requirements x
