Course advice

I’d love to know other people’s opinion on my choice of undergraduate degree. I would really appreciate it if people suggested job ideas and future plans just so I can see where I could go forward with this. I am hoping to take economics and politics at university. Given that I am aiming for a semi-target/target unis, do you think this is a degree that offers good job possibilities. Also, I understand that there is no way of knowing but if I wanted to go into an economics based job would the split degree hinder me. On the other hand, I don’t want to apply for a whole economics degree as I really do enjoy politics and international relations and am passionate about this as well as economics

Honestly - don't stress about jobs at this stage. Anyone with 2:1 or a First in Economics won't have a problem finding a job on graduation, and you will gets lots of help from your University Careers service, advice about relevant graduate entry schemes etc etc.

And no, a joint degree wouldn't be a problem - if anything it adds depth/breadth to your degree. As an example, for the Government Economics Fast Stream scheme, they require "for joint degrees, at least 50% of the course modules should be in economics, and you must have studied both micro and macroeconomics to qualify". Be aware that degrees titled 'with Economics' will have Economics as a minor subject (less than 50%), and degrees titled 'and Economics' will usually be 50/50 between the two subjects, but always check this at Open Days etc.
