Hi, I've just seen your post and have a few questions. Im currently employed by nhs mid yorks and looking at adult nursing degree as a mature student. As a mature student I am worried about my financial commitments and I have children at home. I'm wondering if you have any advice on balancing it all and how flexible is the learning? I would need to be working as well to support my family but I am also passionate about wanting to do my nursing.
How realistic is it all?
Any advise is welcome.

Thanks

Hey @Samjf

Thanks for getting in touch with your questions!

We do offer a dedicated Adult Nursing programme which is solely taught out of Dewsbury and District Hospital and all placements will also be within the MYTT too.

We’d love for you to join our Webinar next Weds 29th October at 6pm where you can speak directly to Mercy, our academic leading on this programme, about the course and also our Outreach team about funding your studies, but in case you didn’t know Healthcare students can receive a Training Grant of £5,000 a year in funding. This is part of the NHS Learning Support Fund and you can find more details on this here - Financial support at university | Health Careers and eligible courses include midwifery, nursing, occupational therapy, paramedicine, and physiotherapy, plus you may also be eligible to additional payments worth up to £3,000 per year.

You can also book onto the Mid Yorkshire Adult Nursing Open Day on Saturday 22 November.
You'll find out about:

the course teaching, theory and placements

the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust and how they support you during your studies

funding and bursaries

how to apply, and tips for a successful interview

You can also:

hear from our current students

check if you meet the entry requirements

take a tour of our facilities and teaching spaces

join an interactive workshop

find out everything you need to know about the course

You can book on for our events using this link Mid Yorkshire Adult Nursing Open Day - Open Day - University of Bradford

I hope this helps! Please let me know if there's anything else I can help with 🙂
