Applying full support as a 2nd year student

I was granted tuition-fee only support for my first year on the basis of being the child of a settled person. Now I should be granted settled status anytime soon can I apply for full support from sfe for my second year? If so, should my settled status be granted before 1st september to qualify or can it be after that and still be valid for full support?

Hi there, had you applied on an EU24N form originally and when do you receive your settled status? Thanks, Jason

Yes, it was an EU24N form I applied for first year. I should be receiving by settled status between end of August and mid-September. Thanks

Can you confirm the status you hold in the UK at the moment? Is the settled person a UK national?

Thanks,
Claire

At the moment, it's limited leave to remain but I should be granted settled status/indefinite leave to remain within late August - mid September

Hi there. Yes, once you gain ILR you will be able to apply for full funding, however you will only be eligible for the Maintenance Loan for the quarter following when you are granted the ILR. Thanks, Leah.

Hey, so what would be the deadline for me to send my application in to receive maintenance loan for the whole year including 1st semester?

The deadline is up to 9 months after the start of your Academic Year to apply, but you must have been granted the ILR status before the start of the year (01/09/25) to qualify for the full year Maintenance Loan (ML). If the status is awarded after the start of the year, you would get the ML for the quarter following you were granted the status. Thanks, Leah.
