Making friends at QUB

I heard that most freshers events for Unis involve drinking, is that true? If so, what other ways are there to make friends?
Also, I’m kind of anxious when it comes to meeting new people, but looking forward to diversifying my friend group. Is that how most people would feel?

- Freshers' events: Not all involve drinking; many unis offer alcohol-free activities.
- Making friends: Join clubs/societies that match your interests.
- Meeting new people: Feeling anxious is normal; be yourself and show genuine interest in others.

Okay thanks, sounds like there’s good ways to talk to new people. I got into my course at queens as well so I’ll see what happens.
I’m a bit curious though what happens next, any ideas?
