Advanced Higher English Dissertation Ideas??
I don’t need a full topic yet, but I need to think of themes and book ideas to read for it. I’ve read Dorian Gray in the past and was told by my teacher that would be a good one to do, however I’d like to read one more just to see. Idk if I should do a comparison diss with two books, I’ve seen lots of ones on the SQA are so was thinking maybe I should if I choose Dorian Gray as its relatively short?? I looked some up and apparently Jekyll and Hyde would link because of the theme of duality, or maybe Frankenstein with the theme of Obsession, however it’s hard to really know since I’ve not read either. Another unrelated option is to do Crime and Punishment which I read a couple of years ago, I did find it a bit dense but that might’ve just been bc I was only 14 reading it and I know it could provide some good analysis. Pls let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions!!
