In terms of settings Hobbits are probably the winner as they're relatively insulated from the various wars going on until the end of Return of the King, the Ewoks are at the mercy of the Empire from the outset and only become safe when it's overthrown.
Assuming both in peacetime though then I might skew to Ewok as Hobbit society would probably be too gregarious for me...

EWOK...100% I think that I would rather be in the Star Wars universe. NOt saying that I'd be able to see all of the planets as an Ewok but I'd certainly try to!
