Nursing Placement Equipment?

Hi!! I'm planning on going to Swansea University this year to study Adult Nursing and was wondering what exactly I would need to buy, and what isn't provided!

I've seen recommendations for the Clarks Unloop shoes, and that you need to buy your own fob watch.

Is there anything else I would need, i.e. a stethoscope?

We can't advise on a full list but one thing our students have mentioned is having a pocket notebook to write down notes whilst you are on the go and to also keep some key reference info in there!

good luck with your studies as well!!

Absolutely! I had purchased a bunch of unnecessary things like nursing cards, reference guides and everything was scattered and felt disorganised. Especially for 1st year, where all the extra information isn't relevant.
A simple pocket notebook was all I needed. So I wanted to share something that’s been a game-changer for me on placement just one sleek notebook that has only the relevant essentials that you'll actually need for 1st year placements, such as pre-written vitals ranges, assessment tips, notebook pages for jotting on and a weekly integrated planner for writing objectives and keeping track of shifts. Hey there!

We cannot wait to meet you 💙

We'd recommend you take a look at your course through our website and there should be an option to contact your department/future lecturers - feel free to each out to them regarding course specifics!

Best of luck and see you soon!
