Best colleges

Hi,
What are the best colleges for medicine in Cambridge? Every source says something different and I am confused. Thanks
And what are the difference between colleges ? Aren’t they all Cambridge at the end of the day?

Colleges are smaller academic communities where you live and sometimes have tutorials in. There is no “best college”. If you are looking to apply to the most competitive colleges for medicine, you can look at the statistics for last year and this year, but i believe medicine is one where college popularity fluctuates every year. Pick a college where you feel comfortable and could see yourself living for the duration of your course.

There are no "best colleges" for any subject since the teaching will be by-in-large the same across colleges. Lectures and exams are done department-wide, supervisions are organised by the colleges but will be the same in content and will frequently happen at other colleges or within the department (a single college cannot have a fellow with every specialism). Colleges are primarily residential and pastoral and choosing one should be based on where you want to live and socialise.

You'll hear varied things regarding this because people have misguided confidence and the idea of a 'best college' fits some people's narratives, even if untrue.
