Results Day!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to take the time to wish everyone receiving results this week, good luck! I know results day can be super nerve wracking and I think it is important to acknowledge these emotions and how you guys might be feeling.

Us, as Ambassadors, have all experienced the results day nerves and here are some reminders ahead of results day:

- Your results do not define you and your capabilities, these are not the tell tale for the rest of your lives.

- Go in with a positive mindset, you have worked hard for this.

- Be excited, this is the start of something new, something really exciting!

- Make the most of it, you earnt it, celebrate, mark the day as a day to remember.

- Don't forget to accept your university place once you have your grades and are 100% sure on your decision!

Good luck to everyone from all of us at The University of Sheffield:smile:

Even if I don't get the grades, please tell the admission officers to let it slide and let me in anyway 😉

Hi!

I thought I could also just respond to this as another Sheffield Uni to echo what you have said and say good luck from all of us at Hallam too 🙂

As you said, I think one of the most important things to remember is that these results do not define you. You have done so well to do all of your exams and coursework and that is an achievement in itself, so no matter the results on Thursday you should be so proud of yourselves.

I think celebrating is so important too. Even if you haven't got the results you may have wanted, you have so much to be proud of and you should still make some plans to do something nice with friends or family to celebrate.

I know how you are all feeling as results day can be incredibly nerve racking and one thing that calmed my nerves was having a back up plan. I know you might not want to think about this, but it is good to try and have a plan just in case things don't go quite how you hoped. It would be a good idea to have a little look at what might be available through clearing and see if there are any universities that you would want to go to. Results day can be quite stressful so if you have a plan it will take some of this stress away.

There are also so many other options so remember that too. You can have a gap year, try and do a foundation year or like I said go through clearing!

I hope some of this helps and wishing everyone the best of luck for Thursday.
