physics vs physics w/ astrophysics at uni help!!

im stuck between applying for straight physics or physics w/ astrophysics at manchester ucl warwick etc, i checked the course structures and its basically the same apart from like 1 or 2 required modules. id veeery marginally prefer the astro course but idk if my personal statement is astrophysics-y enough to apply for it (id say its like 35% astro 65% quantum/particle physics) bc im also applying for straight physics at other unis that dont offer an astro course. also, would doing physics w/astro disadvantage me in any way if i try to pursue a non-astro or even physics related career later?

Often can switch between the two program of studies at start of 2nd or 3rd year, possible they only have a combined student number target.

Nothing wrong with having a preferred subfield of physics and talking about it. Probably 90% of physics personal statements talk about how cool astrophysics and quantum mechanics are anyway. Mine did, and I ended up doing climate science.

I don't think it would affect things later on, it's more common than you think to do PhDs in areas not entirely related to undergrad specialism.
