Clearing?

Hi! I was wondering if anyone knew of people who got into LSE through clearing. I vaguely remember a recent alumni that my school invited for a talk had gotten in for a less popular course, but most people after have said LSE never do clearing. Just wondering if there indeed have been people who got in through clearing what courses did they do? Thank you very much!

Hello @coobsies

According to both the Student Room and the official LSE website, they do not appear to usually participate in clearing. This appears to be the case currently at the time of writing. However, there is no harm in checking back at a later time as with the current poor financial state of the higher education sector as a whole, all universities will be looking to fill as many of their courses as possible.

However, having said that, regardless of whether you feel clearing might be something you need to interact with or not I would strongly encourage you over the next few days to look at clearing places for other universities which offer the course you want to study. This means that if you don't get the grades you need for your firm or insurance or no longer want to accept your firm or insurance offer, you are prepared and can go forwards with a bit more confidence.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions or anything at all about anything please do let me know.

That's not a problem @coobsies!

Remember to have faith in yourself, as you can do this! Wishing you every success for Thursday, and if you do need to go through the clearing process, it is highly likely that you could be talking to a current student like me, and so we understand how you must be feeling, so we are here to guide you through your choices and help you as much as we can.

Once again, if you have any questions about anything at all, please do let me know.
