Student loan if I change university

Currently I am suspended from my course, after completing two years. I am wondering whether the loan plan will change if I move elsewhere. What happens in the following two circumstances?

1. I withdraw from my current uni, then apply somewhere to complete the degree in 2 years time.

2. I remain on the course, although suspended, then apply to complete the degree elsewhere in 2 years time.

Also would the answers to the above be impacted if I switched to a part time course?

Hi there. When did you start your course? Thanks, Leah.

I started my course in 2022/23 (so I am currently Plan 2)

Thanks. If you withdrew and started again then you would be classed as a new student and on a Plan 5.

You would also be classed as a new student (new plan) if you have a gap in study of 2 academic years or more unless the break was agreed and a suspension of study has been completed to support the break.

So, if the university have told us on the suspension you are due to return after two years then you will retain your original plan/cohort. Thanks, Leah.

So if I withdraw, then changed university for the next academic year with a third year entry, it would be on a new loan plan?

Yes, if you withdraw and we are advised you have been withdrawn, then you would be classed as a new student and be on a different cohort. Thanks, Leah.
