Any history of Edinburgh having wiggle room with offer grades on results day?

Bricking it here although I know it's now out of our control.

I have seen some universities (liverpool, nottingham, exeter) have recently started to show some courses in clearing at lower grades than standard offer (eg, AAB now at BBC).

Anyone know if Edinburgh have done this in previous years?

Hey,
I’m also an offer holder for Edinburgh and I’m also afraid of not meeting the offer. I’ve tried asking some people about it in real life and some say look at clearing as a hint. If they have clearing room, usually you missing their offer by one grade could mean you still get the offer. Some unis just decide on acceptance on grades, some look at your personal statement and other information about you. You’ll never know until results day. Even some without clearance may still accept you if you firmed them. I would just prepare for clearing by researching some unis you may be interested in attending just in case. If your course is less competitive, most universities will have some spaces left that you could fill. What are you applying for if you don’t mind me asking?

Either way, I wish you the best of luck. I’m sure it’ll go better than you think

That's good advice - thank you.

It's theoretical physics.

Best of luck to you!

Well, I can provide the answer to this myself now.

It turns out the answer is: yes, sometimes.

Missed the offer by one grade, but was accepted anyway. Thank feck for checking UCAS first as would have wet myself if I had opened grades first.

Doesn't look like Edinburgh offered any places in clearing for anything this year for RUK students, except for nursing.

Theoretical physics only seemed to be in clearing for international students.

I hope it went well for you today Calculatorhead 🤞
